“Hier und jetzt” presents a weekly series of artists talks with artists who live and work – sometimes temporarily – in Stuttgart. Working in different media and disciplines, and using different presentation formats, from talks, discussions to performances, the series implies a panorama of contemporary practices from the region.

Pia Maria Martin works in the medium of film; her attention is devoted to seemingly insignificant objects and familiar processes of everyday life. Empty rooms, closed off from the public view, do not only become the site of production but source of inspiration for a play – a make-believe – taking place on the stage it offers. Pia Maria Martin (*1974 Altdorf) lives and works in Stuttgart. Her recent exhibitions include shows at Reinhard Hauff Gallery in Stuttgart, Thomas Erben Gallery New York, and the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich.
